Who qualifies for NTTN assistance?

  • In 2023, NTTN started with the goal of serving the 19 counties comprising “North Texas” as identified by the Texas Comptroller: See a map of counties.

Collin, Cooke, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Erath, Fannin, Grayson, Hood, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Navarro, Palo Pinto, Parker, Rockwall, Somervell, Tarrant, Wise

In September 2025, NTTN, through careful data analysis, decided to expand its service area to also include counties surrounding the original 19:

Anderson, Bosque, Cherokee, Clay, Comanche, Delta, Eastland, Freestone, Gregg, Hamilton, Henderson, Hill, Hopkins, Jack, Lamar, Limestone, McLennan, Montague, Rains, Rusk, Smith, Stephens, Upshur, Van Zandt, Wood, and Young

This expansion now allows NTTN to serve 45 counties making up 32.5% of the population of Texas.

Are you outside the areas NTTN serves? You may still qualify for a grant through the Campaign for Southern Equality

  • The parent or guardian is the Applicant, and must be legally authorized to seek medical care for the trans or gender-expansive youth(17 and under).

As of September 2025, 18-year-olds can now apply for NTTN’s travel and relocation grants.

  • However, our funds are finite. We ask that Applicants assess their own need for financial assistance.
